Peter Marshall

PhD Student in Management & Organizations, NYU Stern School of Business

I study creativity and the creative and cultural industries, drawing on strategy and organizational theory. Most of my work is set in the music industry in one way or another, though not all of it.

My current projects look at the relationship between rivalry and collaboration, using archival data and experiments; how people learn in a synthesizer lending library, through participant observation and interviews; and how social cohesion shapes outcomes in microfinance group lending, using archival data and interviews.

Before coming to Stern, I received a BS in Economics from Brigham Young University.

Outside of research, I write, produce, and perform music as Lil Baby Grand, including co-writing and co-production credits on Tainy’s Grammy-nominated album DATA.
